Their first feature film, “S'kali” was set against the striking backdrop of Kuala Lumpur. It told the story of a young circle of friends bravely facing the changeover from adolescence to adulthood. The five teens confront the pressures of dysfunctional family life, interracial relationships, and the uncertainties of modern existence. While they butt heads against the system, their parents, and even each other, they never lose sight of the ties that bind – life long friendship.
Their next feature project, entitled “5:13”, was inspired by the real-life event of the nationwide blackout in Malaysia in 1996. It tells the story of two individuals in a desperate fight against paranoia, terror, and eventually each other as they struggle to face growing, inexplicable threats from the outside whilst stripped of all information and resources.
